Then and Now

When this old photo showed up in my memories yesterday, I realized I still had the jacket. Adam wears it now. It was not so very long ago that I threw away the shirt. Any observer of my sense of style should come away with the fact that I dress the same as I have for many years and often, it is the same clothing. I think I learned that from Dewey Hunt; no, I am certain I did.

October 1984

The first photo was from October of 1984. I was 26. The second one was taken today. I am 63 years + 1 day. That is 36+ years or 13,200+ days. That is a long time. So much has happened with so many changes but in a lot of ways, much has remained. I am pretty much who I have been.

One of my favorite lyrics of all time, a lyric that didnt make it on the original recording of the song, says it better:

“Now the years are rolling by me They are rockin’ evenly I am older than I once was And younger than I’ll be; that’s not unusual Nor is it strange After changes upon changes We are more or less the same After changes we are more or less the same
Lie la lie, lie la lie la lie la lie Lie la lie, lie la lie la lie la lie, la la lie la lie” – Paul Simon
